We started using Rateo around March because I was terrible about remembering to ask customers for reviews. We put the QR code on the invoices and at the front desk. It's definitely helped. We're getting reviews more regularly now, and I don't have to stand there awkwardly asking people to leave one. The automatic responses are good too.

Priority guides
Five foundational answers for the questions local businesses ask most often. Each guide starts with a direct answer, then adds practical context, FAQs, official sources, and related reading.
- How to Get More Google Reviews The most reliable way to get more Google reviews is to make the honest review option easy to find after a real customer experience. Give customers a clear Google review link or QR code, ask without pressure, make the same opportunity available to everyone, and use feedback to improve the experience.
- How to Respond to Google Reviews Respond to Google reviews by acknowledging the specific experience, thanking the customer when appropriate, addressing concerns calmly, and offering a useful next step without exposing private information. Keep the response professional, concise, and honest.
- Do Google Reviews Affect Local SEO? Google reviews can support local discovery and customer trust, but they are not a guaranteed ranking lever. Google describes local results through relevance, distance, and prominence; reviews are one of the signals that can help people evaluate a business and may contribute to prominence within that broader picture.
- Can AI Respond to Google Reviews? AI can generate and automatically publish responses to Google reviews with a natural delay. The business defines the voice and guidance so replies stay accurate, privacy-aware, professional, and consistent.
- How Google Reviews Generate Customers Google reviews can generate customers by reducing uncertainty when people compare local businesses. Recent, specific, honest experiences help prospects understand what to expect, while thoughtful responses show that the business is present and accountable.

What Rateo customers say
What customers say about making reviews easier to share
These first-party customer testimonials discuss QR codes, invoices, checkout, and more regular review opportunities. They are not Google review-platform ratings.
We had a stack of little review cards before this and nobody used them 😂. The Rateo QR code is much easier. We put it right next to the card machine and customers can scan it if they want. We've definitely seen more reviews since doing that. I also like being able to keep an eye on everything from one place.
I've tried a couple different ways of asking customers for reviews over the years. Most of them ended up being another thing for my employees to remember. Rateo is simpler. We added the QR code to the paperwork we leave after the job and that's basically our process now. Nothing complicated, which is what I wanted.
We've been using Rateo for a few months now. The biggest difference is consistency. Before, we'd have a great week with five or six reviews and then nothing for three weeks because nobody remembered to ask. Now it's part of our normal checkout process. That's probably more valuable to us than anything else.
Very easy to use. We printed the QR code and put it near the register. Some customers scan it and some don't, but we've definitely gotten more reviews than we were getting before. The automatic responses are also helpful because I don't always have time to sit down and write something for every review.
What I like about Rateo is that I don't have to train my guys on some complicated software. They finish the job, the customer gets the QR code, and that's pretty much it. I can check the reviews from my phone later. We've gotten a lot more consistent with asking for them.
Pretty straightforward. I had the whole thing running the same afternoon I signed up. The QR code is probably the part we use the most. We put it on the invoice and tell customers they can scan it if they want to leave feedback. No complaints so far.
We've gone from getting maybe one or two Google reviews a month to getting them pretty regularly. I don't want to say every customer uses it because they definitely don't. But having the QR code there gives people an easy way to leave one when they do want to.
The Rateo standard
Useful guidance starts with trust
- Answer the question first, then add context and nuance.
- Use Google’s own guidance as the primary source for policy and local-search claims.
- Keep the business voice consistent with the guidance used by AI responses.
- Never recommend review gating, paid reviews, fake experiences, or ranking guarantees.
Put the guidance into practice
